Following on from the ground-breaking small GDA200 and GDA160 releases, the Gallium Nitride family completes with the GDA90, GDA120, GDM200, GDM250, GDA250, GDM300 and GDA300.

Further choices are now available for the portable medical or ITE product designers, looking for that compact modern power solution to accompany their impressive products. The range now accommodates lower powers in ITE/AV applications with the GDA90,120,250 and 300, for medical applications the GDM200,250 and 300.

The Gallium switch technology offers lower switching losses and higher switching frequencies, resulting in transformer size reduction. The wide bandgap switch technology also results in lower heat losses, which together with the transformer reduction greatly reduces the PCB footprint, achieving over double the power density of standard silicon switch technologies. The higher switch rate would also result in smaller filters for more sensitive applications, or possibly not at all for audio applications.

It offers designers future proofing with the latest energy efficiency legislation; UKCA approval, Department of Energy Level VI & Energy Related Products Tier 2, and latest general safety approval IEC/UL/EN62368-1 and IEC/EN/ES60601-1 where applicable. The units are suitable for use in ITE applications conforming to conducted and radiated emissions EN55032 level B and extended operation over 40°C
